About a billion years ago (a.k.a. January) I told you all how I did a 3 day clay workshop. Well, almost two weeks ago we all went back to pick up our characters and paint them!
She looks nothing like what I thought she would when I was sculpting her, but these are colors she chose.
She isn't entirely finished yet, she had an unfortunate accident in the kiln so I have to do something to fix her shawl and I'm going to add something to her hat... I just haven't decided what yet. I'm thinking about putting glitter on the pom-poms. We'll see what happens.
Also, don't be alarmed, I took these pictures right after I finished painting so Woody doesn't have his eyes yet.
This is Colonel Sanders who was made by one of my classmates. He actually looks A LOT like the artist.
The class was so much fun. I definitely want to do more with clay. Now I just need to find the time!
Well, I need to be getting to sleep.
Goodnight!
Madeline

My Foray Into Sculpting
I meant to post these pictures a long time ago, but you know me... I... Um.. I'm not punctual? I don't know exactly what to call delayed blogging.
Anyways, I did a clay workshop last month and this is the person I made!
Her name is Triska and she is a Witch-In-Training who works in a book shop in New York City. She uses spells to fix old clothes she finds in thrift stores & vintage shops... As you can see, her magic isn't very strong.
This is Triska's familiar, Woody (yes... he's named after Mr.Allen.)
I had so much fun during this class. The only experience with clay that I had had was a one night class in an introduction to art type thing about five years ago. Pretty much everyone else in the class were water colorists, art teachers and one craftsman... So I felt very inadequate. It turned out to be tons of fun and my teacher was fantastic.
Once she's been fired and I paint her I'll post more pictures!
