Changes

Home.
Homesick.
Wanderlust.
These are words I have been thinking about a lot lately.
I have some exciting changes coming in my life pretty soon, like next week (more on that later) and so those three words have been on my mind quite a lot lately. My family moved a lot when I was young, so I never really got attached to physical places. I learned from a young age all of those lovely things grandma's have been stitching for years, "Home is where the heart is," and so on. As cheesy as it may be, it is true. So, I am shocked by the fact that I am saddened by the fact I will be leaving a place that has been my home for over a decade. I probably shouldn't be shocked, I have lived here for a long time, but this isn't a place that has ever really felt like home. I realized today though when I told the Postmaster that I was moving and when I ran into my UPS Guy at the gas station, I am really not becoming homesick for this place, I am homesick for all of these people.
I will miss them. Some of them may miss me. It will be ok. I will be ok.

Oh, also, how are you??? I don't really know how three years have passed without me coming by here, but I hope to be back before another three years passes!

5/4/13

Has it really been almost 5 months since I last blogged? Wow. It feels like it has been immensely longer. A lot has happened and a lot has not happened since then. If that makes sense. My Sister is going to Europe in 4 days. I am so excited for her. I wish I was going... But I also don't. I'm looking forward to staying at home for awhile. Besides, I was in Vegas a few months ago which is like going to all of Europe + Egypt.
Here are some photos from Vegas:

This was my favorite sight in Vegas. The colors and lights... Perfect.

Funny story, I kept calling this fake Macau because it reminded me of the time in Boys Over Flowers when JanDi and F4 played hide and seek. My Sister laughed at me.

I've totally been to Paris.
Well, I should probably try sleeping now... But before I go,
Happy Birthday, Audrey!

G'night, Ducks.

December 7th

Hi! I'm still around! Sorry I'm such a bad blogger as of late. That project I mentioned a billion years ago, I'm still working on it and the deadline is December 20th, so when I'm not at work or doing laundry, errands, things of that sort, I'm trying to work on it. I'm not sure if I'll be able to get back around here before Christmas, so if I don't, I just wanted to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas and a fantastic Hannukkah (I've got my candles ready!)
I hope you have a safe and stress free holiday. If only one of two is an option, I hope it's safe ^^
Now I am going to share my new favorite Christmas song.

November 9th

Oh my goodness, Blogger Friends. September 18th? That was when I last posted? Oy vey. I'm so sorry. I feel so bad about neglecting my tiny corner of the internet. I really loved blogging. This year has really taken a lot out of me. A little over a month ago my Mom broke her foot, so life has been crazier than usual. More bad things have happened since I posted, the biggest being my Mom's surgery and subsequent trips to the doctor and what not, but there have been some good things, too. I turned 21! Yay! I've discovered new Kpop bands and there have been new songs released by bands that I already loved. Coco and Duckie is all decorated for Christmas and we started advertising on A Beautiful Mess! That may not seem like a big deal, but I love that blog so much and it makes me so happy seeing our logo on Elsie's blog ^^
I don't have proper time for a blog post today, I just thought I'd come around again to let ya'll know I'm still alive and I have both my feet (currently)!
Thank you to those who still read this!
Later, Ducks.

P.S. To celebrate my 21st birthday, albeit belatedely, here is my favorite 2ne1 song.

September 18th

Hello, Blogoverse. Have you missed me?
What has happened since I last wrote? Doctor Who has new episodes (which are awesome). I have internet and a new computer. I lost my Papa. I saw Mumford & Sons live. I became obsessed with KPop. Amanda had her ankle surgery. I lost my iPod and found it again.
Many things have happened. Some good, some bad, some tragic. It's ok. I'll be ok. I'm ok now. I've been meaning to come back here and write for awhile... But I've been sad, stressed, tired, etc. Think of an excuse not to write. I used it. I wanna blog again. I've missed it. I'm working on a new project right now. I'm really excited about it. It's sort of a surprise, so I can't really talk about it until it's done, but that has been occupying any free corners of my mind lately. The project and KPop. Expect to read a lot about 2ne1, BIGBANG, B1A4 and more Korean Pop bands in the future.
In fact, I will leave you guys with a video of a KPop star in action tonight.

That's Taeyang from BIGBANG (which is my favorite KPop band) doing a cover of a Chris Brown song. I've never listened to Chris Brown, but I am really loving Taeyang's cover.

It is quite late. I should sleep.
Later, Ducks.

1st of July

Hey, Blog Friends!
It's been quite some time... I've been to come around and again confirm that I'm alive, but alas... I am an exceptional procrastinator. I posted a few photos from my recent sojourn to NYC on my tumblr. If you don't have a tumblr, first I'd have to say you should get one. They are awesome. Second, if you like keeping up with the goings on in my life + mind, I'd reccomend bookmarking that page. Hopefully, I'll be back here soon, but in case I'm on tumblr a lot, so that's a good way to keep in touch with me. It's like facebook, but without all the pressure of maintaining the illusion that you lead a really interesting life. Tumblr at times feels like the opposite. It's sort of like "Who can be the biggest introvert?" I jest of course. Tumblr is a lovely place. Moving on, as I said on Tumblr, my Grandfather is really ill, right now and my Grandmother died last month, so I just really haven't felt up to blogging lately. I wasn't very close to my Grandmother, but it still hit me pretty hard. I'm sure everyone says this, but I never thought she would actually die. If you knew my Grandma, you'd know why. She was a force of nature. Very stubborn. Because I didn't see her very often, the fact that I'm never going to see her again is still really sinking in... It's been harder than I thought it would be.
Ok.
I'm done being sad and talking about my dead Grandma.
Hopefully I'll be back with happy, fun blog posts soon... I don't want this to turn into an emo diary.
Have a lovely Sunday, Ducks.
Madeline

P.S. I'm also going to start blogging on our business' blog, Coco and Duckie, so keep an eye out for my posts!

Super Short Update

Hello!
I'm not dead. Life has been crazy lately. Many trips to hospitals and dentists and things of that sort. My family hasn't been in the best health as of late, so I haven't had a lot of time for blogging. Hopefully, this Summer will be different.
Here's some music I've been listening to a lot.

Cheers, Ducks!

4/22

Last Sunday was a very good day.
I went shopping with my Mum and sister.
I got a pretty pair of shoes.

I found out I've been wearing Chucks that were 2 sizes too big for me for 6 months shy of a decade.

I got Kate Spade socks.

Yes. A good day indeed.
Cheers,
Madeline

Youth Sounds "Favors"

I don't know if I've ever told you guys this, but my friends are Pop Stars.
Or they should be. I'm friends with the creator, writer, lyricist, former drummer/current bassist of the band Youth Sounds. I've known Federico for awhile now and actually their first EP, The Bit Parts, the cover art is a picture I took and edited of my sister!
They are going to be releasing their first full length album this Fall, but they need your help.

Another fun tidbit, the album cover is one of my photos and I did the lettering! Schweet!
I'd love to know if any of you pledge, every little bit helps!
Cheers, Madeline

P.S. Here's a link to the Kickstarter. Details! Also, since this blog has just had a bunch of advertising on it lately, I feel like I should give back some. If you pledge to Youth Sounds, any amount, comment on this post and I will draw on a photograph for you and send it to you. Isn't that an awesome prize!! ;)
Later, Ducks.

Shop With Me?

How was your weekend?
Mine was rather fantastic. I hung out with some friends. Ate a lot of Easter Candy. Watched some Kdrama (Boys Over Flowers). Oh, and my friend, Melinda, she gave me a Mockingjay pin!
She also gave me the Bunny finger puppet. I named him WooBin.

I think we're going to finish Boys Over Flowers in May... Have to find approx. 24 hours straight that everyone can devote to watching lovely Korean boys get into hijinks. *sigh*

Also, you may have noticed the new little box to the right of the screen. I just started selling my photography on Society6! I've been wanting to add prints to my Etsy shop for awhile, but I haven't had time to order tests to figure out who makes the best prints at the best price, etc.
I discovered Society6 this morning, set up an account, got verified and now you can buy my photography! It was so simple! Now I want to go take more pictures!
Ok, I've got to run.
Have a lovely Tuesday!
Madeline

P.S. Do you know of any really awesome people on Society6? I'm looking for more people to follow and I would love it if you'd share links in the comments!
Cheers!

FFF #13: Walk, Don't Run

Oh, if only I could have lived in Tokyo in the 60's... With Cary Grant.

George Takei!

I think the director of photography did a lovely job.

Jimmy? How'd you get in this movie?
Cheers,
Madeline

P.S. Does anyone else think it's weird that the last FFF I did was on Friday the 13th, too?

Coming Soon...

I'm going to New York in 56 days.
I am so excited.
We've got a list that is probably as long as my arm of places to go and things to see.
Some of the things on the top of my list:
1. Laduree - Until I get to Paris, I will have to be satisified with going to Laduree in NY. So sad. ;)
2. How To Succeed In Business Without Even Trying - Favorite. Broadway Show. Ever.
3. Kunokinaya - I plan on picking up quite a few issues of Dolly Dolly and Dollybird.
4. Books Of Wonder - Probably the best book store ever.
5. Macbar - They only serve Mac N' Cheese, who wouldn't be excited?
6. Meeting Anita + Seeing Jess (Sorry ya'll are no. 6 .. You've got to admit, the first 5 things are pretty spectacular though.)
7. Harvey with Jim Parsons
8. Central Park
9. Amanda is making us coordinate our clothes for the trip and we have certain patterns we've to wear everyday. So far I know there is going to be a polka dot day, a gingham day, a stripe day, a star day (I'm not sure what I'm going to wear for that one), and I think a plaid day. We've got to work out the rest of the details.

Ok, the list is long enough as it is. I'm really just excited about the trip as a whole. We're going to be spending 8 days in one of the best cities ever. It's going to be lovely.

Well, I guess I should get to work so I can afford to go to NY!
Cheers,
Madeline

Monday, April 9, 2012

Hello, April!

Oh my goodness... The first 7 days of April... Were awful.
It wasn't any one thing, just a bunch of small incidents that added up to a case of the mean reds and hankerings for ice cream. The 8th day though... The 8th was pretty spectacular. I spent Easter with my Mom and sister. We had Lox (mine with bagels, theirs with coleslaw.) for Brunch and then we spent most of the afternoon walking around and window shopping. We finished the day by getting Pho and Spring Rolls at an adorable little Cafe and seeing "Mirror Mirror" which may be my new favorite movie.

The movie was adorable and beautiful and funny and wonderful. The costumes, the scenery.. Ugh.. There are a lot of movies that I wish I could live in and this movie has just joined that prestigious group. ;)
Who wouldn't want to live in a kingdom where everyone sang and danced all the time, because apparently no one had a job. Hahaha... That will be funnier once you've seen the movie.
Alright. I best get back to listing hats in my Etsy store.
G'night, Ducks!

3 Posts In March!

I can't believe March is almost over! Where is all the time going? Where's a guy with a Tardis when you need one...
Anyways, I wanted to introduce you guys to Lola. Lola lives with me now.

She stole my wig.

G'night!
Madeline

P.S. I didn't think about it when  I was dressing up, but the wig and hat seem very Capitol-ish, non? I still haven't gone to see the movie... Perhaps I should dress up when I finally do....

Things That Make Me Happy Right Now Vol. 4

1. My vintage swim cap.

2. Twirl by Kate Spade. I got this perfume just because the bottle was adorable, but it actually smells really good, too!

3. My new shoes. I call them my Anna and The French Kiss shoes :)

4. The necklaces I just got from Sora Designs. They are rather Lola and The Boy Next Door-ish... I see a theme developing here...
They are sooo pretty! I haven't had a chance to wear them yet though... Maybe I'll have  to do some outfit posts soon.

5. Alexis Emeralds!! I so want her!

6. Selling 17 hats in my Etsy shop! I had no idea when I started that I would sell so many so fast! It's been terrific. Everyone on Etsy is so nice and I've been having fun acquiring new hats to sell. In fact,  I have a hat box full of birdcage veils that I really need to photograph...

7. Madeleines. Yum. Although it does seem a little wrong since I'm Madeline. I don't really care, they are delicious.

'Til then, Ducks!

Cheers,
Madeline

Sunday, March 4, 2012

I had the best of intentions of blogging in February... Alas, it did not happen. Work has been crazy busy, which is good, but I miss having time to do things that I used to do! Like blogging... Or laundry...
Anyways, if you've been peeking around the blog lately you may have noticed that my etsy bar (to the right) is starting to fill up again. I've been collecting vintage hats since.. I was 13? 12? 14? Something like that. I've amassed quite the collection and I thought it was kind of mean to keep them all to myself since I don't wear them all. I'm trying to wear the ones I am keeping more often... Maybe I can pop back on to the blog and post some pictures soon! I'll be listing lots more in the next few weeks. Lots of birdcage veils and a few cocktail hats. I also have a pair of boots and a dress I'll be listing.
Also, if you'd like to keep up with me on Facebook, I've got a page. The Facebook app on my phone is a lot better than the Blogger app, so I can post there much easier on Facebook when I don't have time to write a proper post.
Ok, I should get back to work. These hat listings won't write themselves!
Much love,
Madeline

Somebody That I Used To Know

Hello, Blogger Friends.
I haven't died or gone into the witness protection program, January just turned into a pretty crazy month.
Not long after my last post, my laptop started acting pretty weird and I sent it off to my Uncle's to see if there was anything to be done. I was going to see my Sister for a few days and I planned on using her Mac while there. Well, her computer was stolen while in the hotel safe. Awesome, right?
So I've pretty much been computer-less for the last few weeks. I'm not going to lie, It's actually been sort of nice. The negatives far outweigh the positive, but after the first few days the horrendous pain becomes manageable. I'm hoping to save some money up and get a new laptop. As it turns out, mine is just old and on it's way out. Hopefully it will last a little while longer. I have a couple of posts planned, so I'll be back relatively soon.
Cheers,
Madeline
Oh, I am obsessed with this song:
Obsessed.

FFF #12: Kiki's Delivery Service

I lied!
In honor of Friday the 13th, here's a vaguely spooky fave of mine.
I vaguely remember seeing it on TV as a kid, but I didn't really, really watch it until a few days ago and it's so good. I'll probably watch it again tonight.

I should try to round Tybalt (my black cat) up and make him watch it with me tonight!

Moonrise Kingdom

No FFF today, but here's a trailer for a movie that I really want to see.

P.S. Happy Friday The 13th!
